Prior to becoming a consultant, he served as a pastor and senior pastor at various churches for 25 years and as superintendent of a private school for 10 years. Before that, he served in the US Army for nine years, with six of those years spent as a drill sergeant. He holds degrees from Florida Baptist College, Dallas Baptist University, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Glover began his career as a consultant in 1991 after his denomination urged him to begin consulting for churches with plateaued or declining congregations. In 1994, he launched his own consulting business in affiliation with Personality Insights Inc., and in 2000, he began working for John C. Maxwell's INJOY Group as a senior consultant. During his time at INJOY, he worked with clients nationwide and won four leadership awards.

Glover has provided professional development coaching and other consulting services to a wide range of clients, including the American Cancer Society, the NCAA Women's Basketball Coaches Convention, UNC Women's Basketball, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina, along with a wide variety of hospitals, schools, small businesses, churches, and civic groups.
